12.10.2009 - New machine tests durability and hardness of mattresses and cushion frames

Tests according to EN 1957: Hegewald & Peschke GmbH presents a new testing system

Dresden, October 12, 2009 – The Hegewald & Peschke Meß- und Prüftechnik GmbH has developed a new testing machine for mattresses and cushion frames. This combined system can carry out durability tests and determine the hardness value H and the firmness rating Hs without the need for the mattress or cushion frame to be relocated. Up to now, two separate testing devices were necessary for this task. Additionally, the new combined system guarantees an increased reliability for the testing results according to the EN 1957 standard.
The adjustable testing table frame in the new machine for mattresses and cushion frames guarantees a high flexibility for specimens of different sizes. Because the tests are carried out without a movement of the specimens, transport times are omitted and space is saved.
With the help of Hegewald & Peschke’s testing and evaluation software LabMaster the machine controller offers the following functions:
- flexible entry of parameters
- execution of different testing procedures
- graphical representation of measured values, test evaluation, and logging.
When the pre-set number of cycles is reached, the machine is automatically shut down. This allows for the user to operate several machines at once without the need for a constant supervision of this machine.
