Hegewald & Peschke have equipped a complete testing laboratory in Romania with its Calmar one component and furniture testing technology.
The Transylvanian Furniture Cluster (TFC) is a research cluster in Cluj, Romania. In order to support the regional furniture industry, the Municipality of Cluj-Napoca, in partnership with TFC and other local partners has developed a large furniture testing laboratory, with EU funding from Urban Innovative Actions program, for which Hegewald & Peschke supplied the hardware. The project is called Cluj Future of Work and it is a R&D effort to test and prepare the capital of Transilvania for the most likely scenarios to happen, that can impact industries and workforce.
Cluj Future of Work is realized in co-management by Cluj-Napoca Municipality and Cluj Cultural Center, in a consortium with eight other local organizations: Cluj Metropolitan Area, Transylvania Creative Industries Cluster, Transylvanian Furniture Cluster, Cluj IT Cluster, Transilvania IT Cluster, TIFF - Transilvanian International Film Festival, University of Art and Design from Cluj-Napoca (UAD) and ZAIN - Design Expressions.
Due to the long experience in the segment of component and furniture testing, Hegewald & Peschke has developed a modular system, which meets the industrial standards and also allows the individual customer requirements. The delivered furniture test stands offer a wide range of testing possibilities:
A mattress test stand is used to determine how long a mattress can withstand a certain load without being damaged according to DIN EN 1957.
Three universal test fields of different sizes, equipped with pneumatic axes, are used for fatigue tests as well as for the determination of dynamic and static parameters according to DIN EN 1728 and DIN EN 1725. Permanent load and function tests are also possible.
The stability of tables and chairs is tested according to DIN EN 1022.
A pendulum impact tester with impact hammer 6.5kg and an IRHD of 50 is also used. A drop tester is variably positioned in a test portal to apply dynamic impact loads to mattresses, beds, seating and living room furniture.
