Force sensors and load cells are used in many areas of application. For example, they contribute to the safety of machines and systems or are used for tests to determine tensile and compressive forces.
The task of the State Office for Metrology and Calibration Leipzig is to ensure correct measurements for all consumers and to ensure a level playing field within the Saxon economy. The state enterprise has had a Hegewald & Peschke calibration machine with a maximum test force of 600kN since 2006. The new force reference standard measuring device for the measuring range up to 50 kN is intended to improve handling during calibrations, shorten throughput times, reduce measurement uncertainties and provide improved software support.
