Component testing in e-mobility - Testing technology delivered to German car manufacturer

Battery cells in electric vehicles are exposed to high electrochemical, thermal and mechanical loads in daily use. To ensure their durability and functionality and to avoid hazards, these components are tested in complex test procedures.

Test system for battery cells: Testing machine inspekt 100 kN with temperature chamber and compression plates

Hegewald & Peschke has now supplied a German car manufacturer with a test system that acts on the battery cells with 3 different types of load:

  • thermal - via the temperature chamber
  • mechanical - via the testing machine
  • electrical - via the charging and discharging of the battery cell

The testing system comprises an inspekt 100 kN universal testing machine, which has been equipped with a special temperature chamber to simulate the ambient conditions. The LabMaster software is used to reliably and reproducibly map all parameters during the test sequence.
