Fronius stands for new, innovative solutions in the fields of welding, solar energy and battery chargers. A testing system from Hegewald & Peschke is used to research these new solutions and for quality assurance at the Thalheim bei Wels site in Austria. The core of the testing system is the inspekt duo 5 kN universal testing machine, which is used on site for a wide variety of material testing methods such as tensile tests, compression tests, bending tests and peel tests. It impresses with its reliable and fast measurement with extremely simple operation.
For plastic tensile tests in accordance with DIN EN ISO 527, tensile specimens are clamped with screw grips and stretched at a constant speed until they break. The requirements of the standard for the test sequence are preconfigured in the LabMaster testing software so that the user can start and perform the test with just a few mouse clicks. Important material parameters such as tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and elongation at break are determined automatically and can be output in a test report.
The test system can be set up quickly and easily for bending tests in accordance with DIN EN ISO 178 by changing the clamping fixtures. The DIN EN ISO 178 standard describes a procedure for carrying out three-point bending tests. The specimen is loaded in the bending device at a defined speed and the applied force and the deflection of the specimen are measured. Important characteristic values obtained from this test are the bending strength, the bending modulus and the deflection at break. The parameters for this test sequence are also preconfigured in the LabMaster testing software. This means that various test procedures can be carried out continuously and efficiently on one testing machine.
This also applies to the conversion of the testing machine for peel tests. The peel-off device is adjustable for the different peel-off angles 45°, 90° and 180°. The movable peel table ensures that the required peel angle is consistently maintained.
A T-groove plate in the test system ensures that various components with individual clamping and holding devices can also be tested. It serves as a flexible and versatile fixing surface, enabling the secure and precise attachment of test objects, fixtures and accessories.
Fronius is once again relying on the expertise of Hegewald & Peschke for the testing system based around the inspekt duo testing machine. An H&P inspekt table 250 kN testing machine has already been in use on site for 12 years for material testing.
