Furniture and Component Testing – The New Calmar pro.2 Modular Testing System

The requirements for mechanical testing of furniture and components are constantly increasing. In addition to traditional furniture tests, the focus is increasingly shifting toward complex component testing, such as testing of seat structures, fasteners, or functional assemblies. The new Calmar pro.2 testing system combines the highest control precision with maximum flexibility and ease of use for furniture and component testing.

Flexibly configurable for your testing needs: The new Calmar pro.2 modular testing system

The testing technology of the Calmar pro.2 series is based on a modular design concept. The goal is to enable a high degree of flexibility for various testing tasks while providing standardized, reproducible system solutions. Users can adapt the system precisely and with minimal effort to their specific testing requirements. The modular architecture also ensures ease of maintenance, long-term availability of spare parts, and investment security. Testing systems can be expanded, modernized, or adapted to new requirements at any time.

A central element of the system is the control unit, which is designed for both single-axis and multi-axis test setups. Unlike conventional simple test setups, it ensures high measurement and control precision – even with soft, hard, or changing test specimens. This ensures reproducible testing in both quality assurance and development. Safety devices can be individually adapted to hazards in accordance with the Machinery Directive and easily integrated. As standard, the test fields are equipped with a light curtain that offers maximum testing convenience and unrestricted access when setting up and removing test specimens.

Depending on the testing task, pneumatic test axes and/or electric cylinders are used for load application. This combination enables a wide range of test methods for a variety of furniture and components. It covers static, dynamic, and cyclic load tests as well as single-axis and multi-axis applications. The systems are individually configurable and can be precisely tailored to specific requirements.

Operation, control, and evaluation are performed using the in-house testing software LabMaster or CalMaster. External measurement channels, such as temperature or noise sensors, as well as auxiliary axes (e.g., actuators), can be flexibly integrated into the test sequence.
