Hydraulic grips

Hydraulic gips are characterized by fast and non-slip execution of tensile tests according to national and international standards on unmachined and machined flat and round specimens of metallic and non-metallic materials of all tensile strengths. They are suitable for sheet metal, rods, profiles, strips, straight and bent wires, wire ropes, strands, cables, round specimens, flat specimens, round and profiled tubes, technical textiles, non-woven materials, plastics, rubber, leather, composite materials, fabrics and grids.

Advantages of Hydraulic Grips

  • Easy change of clamping jaws
  • Flat jaws with specimen depth stop
  • Low overall height in the machine frame
  • Robust and low-maintenance
  • Use of special jaw holders for special specimen dimensions possible
  • Time-saving adaptation of compression plates, additional smaller load cells, tools and test fixtures possible without removing the clamping fixture via optional slide-in units

The hydraulic grips are available as a synchronized version for symmetrical clamping or with manually adjustable clamping counter bearing for symmetrical and asymmetrical clamping.

Clamping of asymmetrical specimen with hydraulic clamping fixtures closing on one side

Due to the switchable synchronisation, the hydraulic grips can be clamped symmetrically and asymmetrically (e.g. testing of shear specimens or slightly curved specimens). The offset can be easily adjusted and is safely maintained even when re-tensioning. This allows one-hand operation even with asymmetrical specimens. It is also ensured that symmetrical and asymmetrical specimens can be axially aligned in the test axis.

Two different models of hydraulic specimen grips are available in the 100 kN and 250 kN load levels: In addition to the standard model, a hydraulic grips for short specimens is also available. This fixture can be used to test specimens with a recommended clamping length of 35 mm.

Hydraulic aggregates are used for all hydraulic clamping tools from 20 kN to 2500 kN.
