Automated metal tensile test up to 250 kN

Automated testing system with universal testing machine and robot

This testing system is based on the proven basic principle of Hegewald & Peschke's automated testing systems and enables the efficient processing of up to 250 specimens within 8 hours. Equipped with a pneumatically operated specimen holder, which was specially developed by H&P for automated applications, it ensures precise and fast handling of shoulder specimens and thus significantly increases productivity.

A 2-camera video extensometer system enables the simultaneous measurement of longitudinal and transverse strain on round specimens as well as the determination of necking. The user-friendly system is controlled via a touch panel, which provides a graphical overview and simple control of the operating states (start, stop, stop after cycle end, empty run). The LabMaster software evaluates the test results, which can be seamlessly integrated into the customer's own system. Thanks to the separation of the system automation from the evaluation software, flexible maintenance and fast support by standard industrial components is made possible.

The system offers an integrated selection of i.O. (in order) and n.i.O. (not OK) according to the selected test template. A revolving door magazine with three segments for 42 specimens each ensures high flexibility in automated test sequences. A total of 126 specimens are available in the robot area, while a further 126 are stored for preparation. Each segment can be configured for different specimen types, providing exceptional adaptability. Refilling the magazines does not require a system stop, as only the robot movement in the currently active segment is safely interrupted.

Automation relieves the qualified operator of repetitive routine tasks, increasing efficiency. The system is specially designed for shoulder head specimens with diameters of Ø8, Ø10 and Ø12.5 mm and for testing machines with a capacity of 250 kN. It is ideal for testing highly tempered steels and enables uniform handling of head dimensions, eliminating the need for retooling.
