Tensile Testing of Closure Tabs on Baby Diapers
Universal testing machine inspekt solo 2.5 kN
The fastening tabs on baby diapers must withstand high stresses during daily use. When the diaper is put on, tensile forces act on the tabs and the Velcro or adhesive fasteners. At the same time, they must ensure a secure fit without tearing or coming loose unintentionally. Mechanical testing of the fastening systems is therefore an important part of quality assurance in the manufacture of baby diapers and hygiene products.
The Universal Testing Machine inspekt solo allows for precise and reproducible tensile tests of diapers. To do this, the tab is clamped into screw type wedge action grips and precisely aligned using a protractor. The load is then applied at a defined test speed until a specified force is reached or the connection fails. The force and displacement data continuously recorded during the tensile test are evaluated using the LabMaster testing software. This enables a precise and reproducible assessment of the strength, load-bearing capacity, and functional reliability of the closure tabs.
