If the hardware components of your materials testing machine are still in good condition, we can carry out a cost-attractive retrofit of the testing technology with our modern measured value acquisition system. This meets the highest requirements for measurement accuracy and allows digital data acquisition. The force, the crosshead travel and the strain of the testing machine as well as possible external sensors are recorded via our universally applicable material testing software LabMaster and can be evaluated accordingly. The application software, which was specially developed in-house for materials testing, also allows the test data to be stored securely thanks to its database structure. Customer-specific parameters, results and channels can be entered and calculated. If required, data import and export to other networks can be set up on an individualized basis.
We also equip your universal testing machine with a modern digital control system. You will receive from us a materials testing machine that can be completely controlled via the LabMaster software, which can be used in all areas of materials and component testing. Often the components of your existing testing system can be reused, so that the drive or the hydraulic unit can remain in the testing machine. This modernization solution is particularly interesting for materials testing machines in the higher load range above 100 kN, but it is also advisable to check the cost-effectiveness of a "retrofit" for testing machines with smaller capacities, as the investment costs can be relatively low compared to the purchase of a new machine.
Depending on the condition and drive concept, we can also carry out the modernization of your universal testing machine with a new digital control and the use of a completely new drive, so that ultimately only the load frame of your machine will continue to be used. The existing drive of an electromechanical testing machine is replaced by a brushless AC drive with servo amplifier, while hydraulic testing machines are equipped with a new hydraulic power pack and servo valve. We install the electronic components in a switch container and adapt the gearbox of the testing machine accordingly.
With this modernization variant, the existing measured value channels force, crosshead travel and, if necessary, elongation are digitally recorded by the existing sensor system of the testing machine. Optionally, sensors such as load cells or crosshead/piston travel measuring system can be renewed. The measured value acquisition and evaluation is carried out with the universal material testing software LabMaster from Hegewald & Peschke MPT GmbH. The universal testing machine is not regulated by the software but operated and controlled after the retrofit as before.

Basically, only the load frame of the testing machine is still used. The servo motor as well as the servo amplifier of the electromechanical materials testing machine or the hydraulic unit/servo valve of the hydraulic testing machine are renewed. If necessary, the gearbox will also be overhauled and adapted to the new drive parameters. The previous electronics will be replaced by a modern control system with regulating unit. With this variant, the risk of failure due to old components is lowest. This is offset by higher costs, which are generally only worthwhile in the load range above 100 kN.
